Ah Rebecca. What a lovely story!

Over the past few days, I've been drawn to stories of childhood. I watched "Moonrise Kingdom" on Saturday and even read a little from "Grimm's Fairy Tales" yesterday. Finding your story feels like synchronicity. Like I was meant to find it, though I'm sure the algorithm had something to do with it.

What's jumped out at me in all these stories is the irrepressible innocence of children and how their young minds strive to make sense of a world that's still revealing itself to them.

In this story, you have captured the essence of childhood in a way others have not. I admire the way you've used the building-blocks of storytelling to generate interest and suspense. But what makes your story different is that you've reminded us of the "still, small voice" that puts us in touch with who we really are.

How inspiring it was to read of your experience. I was relieved to know your mother was alright. But I blame you entirely for making me hungry!

Thanks for sharing yet another of your amazing life lessons.
