Brilliant. An absolute pleasure to read. Your opening reminded me of an Antonioni film I watched recently. It's from 1962 and called "La Notte." The story is about a write, his wife, and the life-killing confinement of city existence. Sounds uplifting, right? But it's Antonioni. There's plenty of nourishment. Black and white, part of the Criterion collection.
