How wonderful to see this word on your list. When I lived in San Francisco, there was a restaurant called Salmagundi's across the street from the American Conservatory Theater. It mainly served soup and salad, and it was a great place to visit before or after the theater. I went often and loved it.

Fun Fact: Larry Thomas who played Seinfeld's Soup Nazi used to work at Salmagundi's when he was an out-of-work actor. When Seinfeld ended, he wrote a cookbook called "Confessions of a Soup Nazi: An Adventure in Acting and Cooking." https://www.sfweekly.com/archives/the-soup-nazi-was-once-an-actor-in-s-f-who-couldn-t-afford-soup/article_f52035d7-f6ef-5c6c-b8f1-112e4a0cdf03.html
