Thank you for writing this informative piece documenting the bad rap placed on women through the centuries. But it does seem to me that Eve is not in an inferior position to man in Michelangelo's painting. She looks to be on a higher visual plane than Adam. She is conscious, much closer to God, and appears to be in direct relation to Him. Michelangelo has pointed to a great open secret in this work, which was misunderstood and wrongly interpreted by theologians of the past in support, no doubt, of their own beliefs and prejudices. You have given this reader much to appreciate and think about.
