Thank you, Isak Dinesen, for sharing these painful expisodes experienced by you and your daughter. It's heartbreaking to hear about things like this. And how sad to hear of the compulsion to remain silent for decades afterwards.

I know of at least two similar incidents closer to home, cases in which a teenaged girl did report the abuse to her mother, only to be met with the parent's denial.

I shudder to think of how many more may suffer still from the psychological damage brought on by concealment. Thank you again for reading my article and providing such a thoughtful response. Peace.
