Thanks, Caren. You raise a good point. Our new president will be hamstrung from the outset if the GOP obstructs his cabinet choices and agenda.

The “we” you mention is a divided we. As a resident of Georgia, I see a localized example of how factions in that divide are being marketed to.

The GOP ad campaigns have all targeted the two Dem candidates as “radical-Pelosi-Sanders socialists” who want to defund the police, raise taxes, and pack the Supreme Court.

It’s a fear-smear campaign that defeated one of these Dem candidates two years ago. But it plays well with rural voters.

Control of the Senate will depend on voter registration and voter turnout here in Georgia. If you want to help us between now and the January 5th runoff election, check out organizations like Reclaim the Vote to help mobilize that effort.
