Thanks for pointing this out. I knew a woman who had recently escaped from a cult. When I asked why she joined in the first place, she explained that they "love-bombed" her at a time when she felt extremely lonely. Then, after they got her in their group, they treated her terribly, denying food and punishing her for supposed "failures."
