However, my statement was in response to the question of why politicians are making such a big deal out of this when it should be a private issue between patient and doctor, parent and therapist.
I'm not sure a term like "trans-accommodating culture" is really helpful to the discussion. What's wrong with saying transgender health care instead?
Legislation will not make the trans community disappear. This is not something that's going to go away. Why can't we provide health care for an at-risk community without it becoming another polarizing political issue?
