We have seen this kind of spin before. Accused of sexually harassing Anita Hill, Clarence Thomas used "high-tech lynching" to flip the script. Brett Kavanaugh also did it when accused of sexual harassment in high school and college. The 45th president of the US also did it whenever he was accused of anything. It's exactly what children do when they're unwilling to take responsibility for.

These people have been teaching each other how to do this for a long time. Not in classrooms but in front of the media where everyone with eyes can see what they're doing. It's an effective way to pivot away from the truth. Fortunately, not everyone will be fooled. You certainly aren't. I detest lying in all its forms. It's great that you've shone a light on the issue.
