Racial prejudice does not occur in a vacuum. It is always accompanied by one’s identity. For me or anyone of color, to accept this authors conclusion, it would require that I place myself on the Racial Hierarchy social construct and thereby accept a position subordinate to a group of people described as having white skin color.
